Coastal Patrol -------------- For those interested in the Volunteer Coastal Patrol, and for those who work with small ships and have blind and/or dyslectic persons operating with small ships, please note that the Royal Blind Society of N.S.W. have available tapes containing all pertinent information regarding frequencies and all matters referring to small ship safety and traffic handling. These tapes may be obtained from the Royal Blind Society of New South Wales for a small charge. Their address is 4 Mitchell Street Enfield, phone 334 3333, Fax 747 5993. These tapes are available to anyone in the Australian area, or who work small ships in that area. submitted by VK2SG ------------------------------------------- RTTY gains another contest -------------------------- Another RTTY contest will commence from this year. The total is growing testifying to the popularity and usability of this mode at any time of the sun-cycle. This contest will be run by the Polish RTTY Society and will take place on the last full weekend in April in every second year. Mode will be Baudot only. It is good to see new contests coming in, there have been several started in the last two or three years, and particularly good to have one established in what was a country restricted by previous governmental practices. Perhaps more countries from that region will become interested in running contests in the HF digital modes, we hope so. The rules will be published in April so keep watching and please support this new contest -- give them a good start. Information and rules supplied by VK2SG. --------------------------------------- ANARTS April meeting -------------------- Please note that, because of Easter, the meeting will be put back a week until Friday 8th April. This is normal practice when the meeting clashes with a public holiday, and the 1st April is Good Friday. Hope to see some of you there. Time is 7.30 pm and takes place at the QTH of Keith VK2ZZO. For further information contact Col VK2CTD, Jim VK2BQS, or Pat VK2JPA (work 230 3722). It is triplex paper (three sheets of paper, two sheets of carbon paper), you can have it for the cost of freight (you pay the freight). This paper will work in any pressure machine, or even typewriters, no good for tractor machines. When you unroll it you finish up with three rolls of paper and two rolls of carbon paper. The paper you can use, the carbon -- well you can give it to the children to mess up the house. Don't worry about the amount you want, I have enough.
