SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-155.01 DOVE SAYS "HI" HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 155.01 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD JUNE 4, 1994 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-155.01 DOVE-OSCAR-17 (DOVE) Voice Synthesizer Now Being Tested The satellite is now speaking the phrase "HI, this is DOVE in space" for one minute of every four minutes. "HI" has been traditionally sent from Amateur satellites since OSCAR-1, so it seemed appropriate for this re- activation of the voice synthesizer in DO-17. The team will continue to work on improvements, including possibly raising the amplitude of the voice, which is presently about 1/2 that of the telemetry. The speech software has been completely reloaded over the past 3 days. The S-band transmitter is presently turned off. Transmitter power will be optimized over the next few days while maintaining a positive power budget. Reception reports are welcome and please send them to PY2BJO. Telemetry is not needed at this time. [The AMSAT News Service would like to thank Jim White (WD0E) for this bulletin item. Jim also wishes to acknowledge the other members of the DOVE Ground Command Team of WJ9F, VK7ZBX, N5AHD, NK6K with additional support from WB6LLO and K0RZ.] /EX SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-155.02 OFFICIAL LO-19 STATUS REPORT HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 155.02 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD JUNE 4, 1994 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-155.02 Official LUSAT-OSCAR-19 Status Report On 01-JUN-1994, during orbit #22739, the CW beacon was turned back on. This operation was performed by the control station of Norberto Pennini (LU8DYF) and by the station in charge of the CW beacon, Ruben Ferreiro (LU6DYD). At the same time, LU8DYF, turned OFF the "B" transmitter (437.125 MHz) and turned ON the "A" transmitter (437.150 MHz). While this procedure was happening place, LU6DYD was capturing some telemetry. Then, when LU8DYF finally swapped the transmitters, and LU8DYD sent the necessary "pseudo- random" (PN) command sequence which subsequently turned on the CW beacon. After more than 9 months of being turned off, the CW beacon was started up again without any problems. On 02-JUN-94, during orbit #22754, the CW beacon was turned OFF. This operation was again performed by LU8DYF and LU6DYD. LU6DYD turned OFF the CW beacon and LU8DYF agained swapped the two transmitters to be sure they were both working properly. At the present time, the CW beacon is present- ly OFF and the "B" Raised Cosine PSK transmitter (437.125 MHz) is now ON. The LUSAT-1 Recovery Team encourages those stations that have collected telemetry reports during this period to send them to LU8DYF for analyses purposes. Overseas stations: If you capture any LUSAT-1 telemetry and send the "raw" satellite telemetry to the satellite control station, you will receive a certificate for your help. These telemetry reports can be sent either via packet radio to LU8DYF@LU8DYF.BA.ARG.SOAM and LU8DYF@ANY-ACTIVE- SATELLITE, or via Internet to: lu8dyf@asarin.org.ar If you intend to use the satellite, please remember that the BBS is NOT LOADED and it will NOT be operational for the next 2 weeks (approx.). The LUSAT-1 recovery team want to thanks all the stations that sent LUSAT-1 telemetry data in RAW format. The overseas stations that are will receive the Special Award are: 1) Mr. Norimasa Okamoto (JN2LHU) from Gamagori, Japan. 2) Mr. Bent Bagger (OZ6BL+OZ7SAT) from Denmark. 73's de Eduardo Sweet, LU7AKC (LUSAT-1 recovery team) packet: lu7akc@lu7akc.#col.cf.arg.soam e-mail: lu7akc@asarin.org.ar [The AMSAT News Service (ANS) would like to thank Eduard Sweet (LU7AKC) for this bulletin item.] /EX SB SAT @ AMSAT $ANS-155.03 WEEKLY OSCAR STATUS REPORTS HR AMSAT NEWS SERVICE BULLETIN 155.03 FROM AMSAT HQ SILVER SPRING, MD JUNE 4, 1994 TO ALL RADIO AMATEURS BT BID: $ANS-155.03 Weekly OSCAR Status Reports: 04-JUN-94 AO-13: Current Transponder Operating Schedule: L QST *** AO-13 TRANSPONDER SCHEDULE *** 1994 May 07-Jul 11 Mode-B : MA 0 to MA 170 | Mode-BS : MA 170 to MA 218 | Mode-S : MA 218 to MA 220 |<- S beacon only Mode-S : MA 220 to MA 230 |<- S transponder; B trsp. is OFF Mode-BS : MA 230 to MA 250 | Alon/Alat 230/-5 Mode-B : MA 250 to MA 256 | Omnis : MA 250 to MA 120 | Move to attitude 180/0, Jul 11 [G3RUH/DB2OS/VK5AGR] FO-20: The analog mode will be continued indefinitely.
