Welcome to the premire issue of.... --------------- THE VIRUS DIGEST --------------- Written by The Attitude Adjuster --------------- Welcome to the Virus Digest... I want to start off with this simple message: ALL THE INFORMATION IN THIS PUBLICATION IS PURELY INFORMATIONAL. I, THE ATTITUDE ADJUSTER, WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY INFORMATION IN THIS PUBLICATION. IN OTHER WORDS, DON'T GET CAUGHT!! Okay, now that is out of the way, and we can get on to the main issue. The Virus Digest is a monthly publication by The Attitude Adjuster, and distributed by S.O.H.A. Each month we will review a few new viruses and look at current virus technology. If you have anarticle to submit, or a complaint (or compliment), you can leave them on The Razor's Edge BBS, or The Magic Eye BBS. Both numbers are listed later... VIRUS REVIEWS: Jerusalem-B A very compact, easy to start virus... The version I have totally infected a test machine and had it to it's knees in a week. It adds itself to programs every time they are run, until they are too big to fit into memory... SlowDeath A strange virus/trojan. It goes TSR, then waits for a Ctrl-Alt- Del. As soon as it sees one, it overwrites the FAT on Hard Drive 0. DoubleWrite VERY SMALL!! It's 273 bytes long... AND VERY EFFECTIVE... it will abort if no Hard Drive 0 is present, but if there is a HD0, it keeps overwriting the FAT till the computer is rebooted... if it is not stopped, it will wear the flux out, and ruin the drive... I accidently ran it here... it makes DOS find CRC errors on sector 0-100, and cause it to be unable to format... AMAZING! This is a virus you should activate remotely if you can get to DOS on a BBS !! Note: This issue is just a sample, next month: HOW TO OVERWRITE THE FAT. REVIEWS OF: EzComm100 EasyTroj Generic Sect0 ALSO AHEAD IN THE MORE DISTANT FUTURE: STOPPING THE CLOCK. THE KEYBOARD INTERRUPT. INTERRUPT 24!
