In this system is the Sa-Matra, the precurser battle cruiser which you must destroy. To get through the ring of surrounding Ur-Quan and Kohr-Ah ships I entered the orbit of one of the outer planets, then when I came out of orbit the ships were no longer surrounding the planet around which the Sa-Matra orbits. I then went over to that planet before the ships could reform around it. There you will find a Spathi ship. Talk to him & don't threaten him & he will make an invaluable ally during the course of the game. Then goto Mercury, scan it & get the Radioactive materials (they are the red ones). Now you can goto Earth (it is a blue planet), you will be confronted with a drone, do not worry too much about it. Goto the moon, scan it & then dispatch to it. Destroy the biological if you wish - it doesn't matter they can't hurt you. Get what minerals you want, and then goto the energy source. Now goto the space station orbiting Earth, give the commander the minerals he needs, and fight the Ilwrathi that attacks. Since its cloak is destroyed, you can destroy it with 2 or 3 missiles from the Earth Cruiser. However, before you do anything make sure you save the game, and continue to save the game before any fight, in case you die. Now the commander will be your ally. The main thing you want to do is make you ship as fast as possible, have a good turning rate, and be able travel moderate distances before refueling. So 1st get some more thrusters for acceleration & turning jets for turning (Duh). Make sure you fill your escorts to maximum capacity. With whatever is left over you can add whatever you feel like, maybe a dynamo or some more cargo space, another planet lander isn't a bad idea either. Okay, now to get some more RU so that you can give yourself a decent ship before you try and go anywhere. Goto Alpha Cerenkov I and talk to Admiral Zex, then goto the edge of the system & destroy each & every one of the ships that comes after you. If you are attacked by a Red Slylandro Probe on the way use your Spathi Eluder craft & continually turn away from it firing at it with your secret weapon. Eventually it will start to follow you so just keep on firing until you destroy it. Do not try & attack using your main weapon as you are likely to be destroyed - or at least loose some crew. Back to the VUX, since the VUX ships are so slow, and their weapons are only short-range, you can destroy them with the Earth Cruiser. But remember to save the game each time in case 1 of them zaps in beside you & blows you away before you can do anything, their weapons may be short range but they are powerful. Okay, now you should have about 10000 RU, if you want you can go into hyperspace & sit & wait for ships to appear & attack if you want to get more RU, it is upto you. Go back to Earth (Sol) & add some more features to your ship (eg more fuel tanks, more crew, more weapons, more landers). If you are getting broad range hypercasts from the Rigel system goto it & talk to the ship you see, it is friendly. Then goto Delta Vulpeculae & talk to the Orz, DO NOT talk about the Androsynth, as the Orz don't like it & you lose an ally. Once you have talked to them goto their home planet at Delta Vulpeculae II C & request permission to go down to the planet. Once there get the Taalo shield and whatever minerals you want. Goto each of the planets in the system & grab what you can so that you have some more RU & minerals to give to the commander back at the Starbase. Goto Eta Vulpeculae I & check out what happened to the Androsynth, then goto the Zot-Fot-Pik at Alpha Tucanae I. Make allies with them and then goto Alpha Pavonis VII. Get what you can from the wrecked Dreadnought, and what you want from the surrounding planets. Do not worry too much about your fuel, just make sure that you have about 10 - 20 left when you leave. Now goto co-ordinates 043.8:637.2 and wait around until the 17th of the month. When the portal opens up you will be sent to Quasi space, check the starmap & goto the biggest star on the right. Do not worry about fuel because while you are in here you use none. Talk to the Arilou and get them to make you the portal spawner. Then go back into Hyperspace nearest Earth & return home. If you have enough fuel for the detour goto Alpha Centauri & if you don't see a ship straight away then touch on each of the worlds (do not orbit them, or grab minerals as you will lose crew & landers because the surfaces are extremely rough) until you see a ship orbiting 1 of them. Goto the ship & make allies with them, they are the Melnorme. They are very useful. The Rainbow worlds listed above give you 500 Credit points each with these traders, and on average you get 2 Credit points each for each biological you bring to them. Now return to the Starbase & fill up on fuel & crew. You should have receive another file that has all of the Quasi space co-ordinates in it as well as this one when you got the archive, the file was called SC2QMAP.AXE, if you didn't get it leave some mail to Werewolf on Dave's Place BBS. There is much you can do now with using little fuel because of the portal spawner, so first goto as many of the Rainbow Worlds as you can & get as much technical investments as you can from the Melnorme. They are invaluable. With what is left over you can buy information. Do not forget that just because you know it from here means that you know it in the game, you must learn the information in the game, so always go back to the Melnorme & buy information whenever you can until you exhaust their supply of it. Goto Arcturus using Quasi space & get the Burvixese Caster, now you will be able to call the Melnorme anywhere in Hyperspace. When you are running low on fuel, you can either save some of your credit points with the Melnorme & go back to the Starbase to refuel, or call the Melnorme & buy some of their fuel. I saved my credit points until I had bought everything that the Melnorme were willing to sell. Anyway once you have all of the technological investments of the Melnorme you can go back to the Rainbow worlds & get all of the minerals on them, which you couldn't do before without losing some crew. Also go around to each planet & get as many minerals as you can. Right, now for the fun bit. Once you have returned to starbase & have setup your ship as much as you want to/as much as you can at the time, goto the Pkunk & get the Clear Spindle. During the course of the game they will start moving towards the Yehat, if they do you can stop them twice, but that is it. Do not worry too much when they are annihilated by the Yehat. Also if you destroy all of their ships you can go back to their home-world and they will give you more. If the Zot-Fot-Pik have called for help go help them, but be warned it is a black Kohr-Ah ship & they are hard to kill. I found it easiest to use the Spathi Eluder to dodge his mines & outrun the ring of fire. Each time one of the Eluder's secret weapons hit it took off 2 of the Kohr-Ah's crew. Goto the Spathi & rid their home planet of the beasts that have been killing them. Do NOT let them party, tell them you want the alliance to start now. Goto the Zot-Fot-Pik & see if they have any more information to give you. Goto the Umgah's home planet, destroy the 10 Umgah ships that are sent to get you, then take the Talking Pet on board. If you have (& you should have it by now) the Taalo shield you should be right. Talk to the Umgah on their home planet again, get the ships that they give you, get them to tell you any secrets they have as well, get the 500 units of biological data that they give you, then run away using the [Esc] key. Otherwise after a while they will destroy you. Get the beast that the VUX Admiral wants and take it too him, but while you are there go visit the Supox & the Utwig & get the Ultron. You can also goto the home planet of the Red Probes if you have enough fuel. Don't forget to use the portal spawner. Goto the Thraddash & send them into the Ur-Quan & Kohr-Ah space. When they come out sit in a system and kill them as they attack you. They are easy enough to kill, and you must kill a moderate amount of them before they will become you allies so you can get the Aqua Helix. Now go back to Alpha Cerenkov I & give the Admiral his beast, after that go down to the planet & get the Shofixti maidens. Go to the Shofixti home system & insult the Shofixti warrior (no-kidding this is what you do). He will attack anyway, do NOT fire as it will only take 1 shot to kill him & he is the last surviving Shofixti male. Use your escape thrusters ([Esc] key) to leave the battle field, since his ship is pretty slow if you are on the opposite side of the screen than him your 5 secs warming up would have finished & you would have left by the time he reaches you. Continually do this (it takes about 3 - 5 goes) until he realises that you aren't an Ur-Quan. Give him the maidens. Goto Beta Copernicus I & get the Mycon Egg Shell, then goto Betelguese & talk to the Syreen there, have sex with her if you want (I did). Show her the Mycon Egg Shell & then go & get the Syreen ships. Go back to Betelguese & have sex with her again if you want (I did), then proceed to the Mycon's home planet (Epsilon Scorpii I) & tell them about Organon. When they start to move goto Beta Brahe I & either Converse or Attack the Mycon their. It doesn't matter you end up attacking them anyway. I found it best to use the Arilou ships for this because they are faster than the Mycon & the Mycon's weapons & because they are inertialess they are easy to control. Their self-guiding laser makes it easy to just run rings around the Mycon (avoiding going in front of its weapon) and continually firing. Plus you can cause the Mycon's weapons to turn around and hit the Mycon itself if you want. Anyway, once they have been destroyed scan the planet and get the Mycon Sun Device. Next stop is the Druuge. Goto Zeta Persei I & trade with them. You will find it unnecessary to give them crew, give them something else (keep the Burvixese Caster if you can), and then get the Rosy Sphere. As far as I know everything else they have is junk. Leave the system & goto the Device Menu in the Manifest. You should have the Broken Ultron, Clear Spindle, Aqua Helix, & Rosy Sphere. If you select the Clear Spindle, Aqua Helix, & Rosy Sphere they will be used to fix the Ultron. Take it back to the Utwig & they will tell you the whereabouts of their Bomb, and tell you that you can have it. Go to the place mentioned, you will find 5 Druuge ships there. Talk to them, then attack them. They are moderately easy to destroy but watch that weapon, it can inflict grevious damage to your crew. By now when you go back to the Starbase you should have Shofixti warriors there. Get one of their ships & then goto Yehat space. Talk to them, and then show them the Shofixti warrior. Do not go back as you will be attacked. By now the Spathi's sphere of infuence will have vanished. If not then wait a little longer, always checking the starmap to see if it has. When it does disappear goto the Spathi home planet's moon, and get the Umgah Caster there. Now goto the Ilwrathi's home system (system NOT planet) & use the Umgah Caster. Tell them to leave the Pkunk alone & go attack someone else. They shall go & attack the Thraddash. As soon as they start moving goto Procyon II and use the Burvixese or the Umgah Caster (I used the Burvixese just to be different - but either one will do) to talk to the Chmmr (not fully formed yet) through the slave shield. When they stop communicating use the Mycon Sun Device. From there on in there isn't much more to do. Once you have outfitted your ship, and re-assigned your escorts to whatever you want, goto Delta Crateris VI. I know there is a ring of Ur-Quan & Kohr-Ah ships (predominantly Ur-Quan, but when the Kohr-Ah win the war it is predominantely Kohr-Ah) circling the planet, so go into the orbit of either planet VI or VII. When you come out of orbit you will find that they have moved to the bottom of the screen. Quickly zip over to planet V as they come back pretty quick. Now goto the Device Menu in the Manifest & talk to the Talking Pet. Tell him to do his stuff, and then you go over to the Sa-Matra circling the planet. You will have to fight off 6 ships. 3 Ur-Quan & 3 Kohr-Ah, do not worry if you use all of your ships doing this, in fact it is preferred (as long as you don't bring in your flag-ship & try & use that). After that you will talk to some Yehat, who will give you some of their ships + some Pkunk ships. When fighting the Sa-Matra, use the Pkunk. Not only can it outrun the fireballs & green energy balls that are launched at you, but because it fires sideways you can cirlce around the Sa-Matra straffing the force-field generators. Do not try to destroy the fireballs & green energy balls because if any of the generators are still active then they will be re-created & launched again. Wait until they have all been destroyed then use some Yehat ships to wipe out the fireballs & green energy balls. If you think that you are losing too many Yehat ships trying to do this bring in any spares that you had left over from fighting the Ur-Quan & Kohr-Ah before. Waste them weakening the fireballs & energy blasts rather than the Yehat. Eventually you will destroy them all (there is only 4 or 5 green enery balls & 3 fireballs anyway). Use your escape warp drive then (the [Esc] key) so that you can bring in your flagship. Bring it in to the hole where the force- field use to be, and touch it against the hole. The rest, as they say, is history .. that is it is completely animated. Watch the closing credits too they are quite funny. I hope you enjoyed this game as much as I did. If you are having any problems leave mail to Werewolf on Dave's Place BBS. Later dudes & dudettes ... <|=]
