How to gain free access to the Internet

This works in the UK....and I'd imagine it works in the
States: This is provided for informational purposes only
Windows 95 comes with a program called icwconn1.exe.

Run this program and choose "automatic"...
your computer will then dial the Microsoft On-line
referral server and download a list of ISP's local
to your area. You can then choose an ISP to signup
with and their on-line registration server will be
dialed....Now if you look in the c:\windows\temp dir
there are a list of files (the ones downloaded from
 referral.microsoft.com)....some of these files have
the extention *.isp. Change this extention from isp
to txt and open them with notepad. Amongst other info
a user name and password are dislpayed. Using dial-up
networking (win95) or RAS (win NT) dial the number 
provided and supply the username and password...
configure Internet Explorer (or other browser) to use
that ISP's web proxy server....now you have free access
to the internet...and your laughing if they provide a 
free-phone number (toll free for the Americans.)
