                             by Tony Curro

    Software Toolworks has released an update, and improved version, of
    their popular Guinness Records. The 1993 release is the exact
    duplicate of the paperbound 1993 Guinness Book of Records. The
    version I tested requires Windows, 386 or better CPU, 4MB RAM and
    2.5-4MB hard disk space. It will work on 16 and 256 color systems.

    This latest release has push button selection on the left side of
    the screen. From the buttons you can access: Browse Records; Boolean
    Word Search; Topic Index; Random Record Explore; Superlative Index;
    Picture Index and Movie Index.

    Guinness contains over 3,600 new and updated records. This release
    also has video clips. Some of them contain audio. I was impressed
    with several that I browsed through. Looking at information for a
    B-52 bomber, I saw the clip along with an audio description.

    I have found this the best way to search for achievements and
    accomplishments, failures and flops. Just about anything you could
    think of is contained here, and even things you might not think of.

    This is a worthwhile addition to any CD-ROM library. It comes in
    IBM, MAC and MPC (WINDOWS) format.
