Quick Titles 2.2 is shareware which may be distributed either as our
original compressed (zipped) file called "ASCIFNT2.ZIP" or on disk as
seven seperate files (eight if ASCIFNT2.ZIP is included as well).
No file may be omitted or altered, however it's distributed (see below).

ASCIFNT2.ZIP is not crippled or limited in any way. It replaces
QTITLE21.ZIP, distributed earlier in 1990, which did have a time limit.
Sysops who have posted QTITLE21.ZIP are requested to replace it with
   ASCIFNT2.ZIP. ASCIFNT2.ZIP also replaces ASCIFONT.ZIP (see below).

                             LIMIT OF LIABILITY

Quick Titles is distributed as is. The author disclaims all
warranties, expressed or implied. The author will assume no liability
for damages either from the direct use of this product or as a
consequence of the use of this product.

THE FILES WHICH MAKE UP ASCIFNT2.ZIP (QUICK TITLES 2.2):

             QT.EXE - Quick Titles program
             QT.HLP - Help files for QT.EXE
QT-DEMO.ORD - orders file for the demo
QT-BLURB.DOC - best description of QT, for BBS use
QT-WEEAD.DOC - same as above but shorter
        QT-READ.ME - this document
QT3-DEMO.EXE - Color Quick Titles Version 3.0 (the paid version)
demonstration. It also has many additional fonts.
Run "qt3-demo" and see what QT 3.0 does!

An earlier ASCIFONT.ZIP distributed by The Logic Factory was 59,255
bytes long. There are no important differences between it and this
ASCIFNT2.ZIP file. Both were official releases. This is the later
release even though it's smaller: the smaller qt.exe here was compiled
from the same source code by an improved compiler.

NOTE - Quick Titles 2.2 is NOT in the public domain!! It is shareware
which may be freely copied and distributed so long as:

      1) The files listed above are all included, and are all unaltered.

      2) It is not misrepresented as being free, in the public domain, or
          without a copyright.

      3) No price is set beyond reasonable charges for the media and
distribution; and if any price is charged it is made clear to the
consumer before the time of purchase that they are NOT paying for
          the program itself.

    USAGE:
No business or commercial use of any kind may be made of Quick Titles
or of the screens it creates without purchase. You are licensed only
to use Quick Titles on a trial basis, for a maximum of 6 weeks. After
that you must purchase it for $25 U.S.+ $2.50 shipping, but note that
you get version 3.0 for that price, with color and extra fonts.

For a visual treat, run the file "qt3-demo.exe" and you'll see a brief
series of color slides produced by the beta version of Quick Titles 3.0,
which uses the extra fonts that have been added to QT 3.0. It'll give
you a good idea of just what Color Quick Titles 3.0 (the registered
version) can do. See "Why Buy" below about registration.

this (do remember to come back and read this!) So long as you remember
to hit F1 frequently, you'll have no problems. (First make sure QT.EXE,
QT.HLP, and QT-DEMO.ORD are ALL in the PATH or the current directory!).

SYSOPS: Quick Titles 3.0 (the registered, color version) is just what
the doctor ordered for whipping up impressive and colorful screens for
your BBS quickly and simply. The screens can be saved with ANSI codes.

FAX users: if you've ever sent six words in an ascii file out as a FAX,
and wished you could send a FAX that looked a little less silly than
six little words stuck in the middle of the page; use Quick Titles to
create something with more impact...or just to create a letterhead
suitable for fax correspondence. Then hand the other internal FAX
users you know a copy of ASCIFNT2.ZIP for their use.

Note that Quick Titles can be used to print up signs quickly: its
designs look VERY nice on a laser printer. In order to print signs on
    a dot-matrix printer that doesn't support line-drawing characters you
may need "lineprt.zip" which comes with the paid version of QT.

DATABASE PROGRAMMERS - give your Character-based applications a more
professional look without going to a lot of trouble, with Quick Titles.
An impressive title screen gives your customers (or bosses) a good
first impression of your work. Certainly QT is cost-effective. You
will have to purchase Quick Titles before making any business use of
    it, however.

If you appreciate Quick Titles, please do spread it around! We do
however request that you upload to any BBS the intact .ZIP file, as you
got it, including all seven files listed above, and unaltered.

To make things easier for you: after uploading ASCIFNT2.ZIP, rather
than typing out a descriptive message about it yourself, you can just
upload "qt-blurb.doc" (32 lines long) or "qt-weead.doc" (8 lines long)
(do this as an ASCII upload) into the message section of a BBS. Both of
these describe Quick Titles, have no lines longer than 69 characters,
have no blank lines, and are not embarassingly self-serving.

If a BBS can't show higher-order ASCII characters, or display
messages as long as 32 lines, use qt-weead.doc.

There are a lot of reasons to spend the money to "register" your
    copy of Quick Titles:

    - You get Quick Titles 3.0, with COLOR - glorious color, at your
fingertips, and many additional fonts that are Quite Different.
For a preview of what Quick Titles 3.0 can do, run the file
"qt3-demo.exe" and get a slideshow of color screens.

    - It doesn't cost much: $25 U.S. plus $2.50 shipping and handling,
      (plus $2 for 3 1/2 inch diskettes). For Canadians $30 plus $2.50
shipping (plus $2 for 3 1/2 inch diskettes). Canadians: price
      includes any GST tax.

    - You get "LINEPRT.ZIP", a utility that uses graphics mode to allow
even dot matrix printers that don't support line-drawing characters
to print out the files that Quick Titles creates.

    - You get more documentation, including details to help you program
Quick Titles to display sequences of screens, like the QT
      demonstration file "qt-demo.ord".

    - As has been said above, only by purchasing can you make ANY commercial
or business use of Quick Titles or the screens it creates.

    - It's the right thing to do if you want to keep using QT: you'll ease
your conscience and you'll make more programs like this possible.

Convinced? Then why not order now?
