All Rights Reserved ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shareware ========= "Shareware" is a term used to describe a system for distribution of software. Under the shareware concept, software may be freely copied and passed along to others, or distributed through bulletin board systems, etc. As a recipient of a shareware program, you may use the software for a short trial period to determine if it meets your needs. If it does, you pay the registration fee. By paying the fee, you are granted the right to retain the software for your use. If the software is not suitable, then you may discard it. The shareware system provides substantial benefits: 1) You get to try out the software BEFORE you buy it so you know exactly what you're buying. 2) Shareware is substantially less expensive than most commercial programs. You don't pay for costly marketing programs and fancy packaging. 3) You get access to a MUCH broader base of available programs. Thousands of excellent programs have been written by expert programmers who would never consider marketing commercially. Through the concept of shareware, these people make their programs available to the community. Usually, all they ask in return is a small fee to reward them for the time and effort they've put into the program. The system is based entirely on the honor system, and generally works quite well. (Most people are honest and wouldn't violate the trust placed in them by the author of the software.) Shareware is NOT free software - the author counts on your integrity. Please register using the enclosed Registration/Order Form. (This form may also be printed from the ORDER.FRM file or from Main Menu Option #4 within the program.) Registration may be made by credit card, check or money order. You are encouraged to copy this software and pass it along to others who may be interested in using it. This program is produced by a member of the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP). ASP wants to make sure that the shareware principle works for you. If you are unable to resolve a shareware related problem with an ASP member by contacting the member directly, ASP may be able to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a dispute or problem with an ASP member, but does not provide technical support --------- for members' products. ------|-- | (tm) Please write to the --| | |------------------ ASP Ombudsman at | -----|--- | Association of 545 Grover Road | | |-- Shareware Muskegon, MI 49442-9427 ---| O | Professionals or send a Compuserve ------| | |--------------------- message via easyplex to --------- MEMBER ASP Ombudsman 70007,3536 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE OF CONTENTS ----------------- SECTION PROGRAM ITEM PAGE --------- ------------------------------------------------------- ------ A Introduction:............................................ 1 B Initial Screen:.......................................... 2 B-1 Demo & Regular Program Option:........................... 2 B-2 Suggested Instructions to Use Program:................... 2 B-3 Introduction Screen (Regular/Automatic Presentation):.... 2 C Main Menu:............................................... 3 C-1 Narrative Presentation:.................................. 4 C-2 Planning Module Menu:.................................... 5 C-3 Main Utilities Menu:..................................... 5 C-3-1 User Code:............................... 5 C-3-2 Total Analysis Program Information:...... 6 C-3-3 Special Instructions to Print:........... 7 C-3-4 General Help Training:................... 7 C-3-5 License Agreement:....................... 7 C-4 Customer Service Information & Ordering:................. 8 C-5 Exiting Program:......................................... 8 D Income Protection (Disability) Planner Module:........... 8 D-1 Module Initial Screen:................................... 9 D-2 Screen Options:.......................................... 9 D-2-A Print Illustration:...................... 10 D-2-1 Input all Information:................... 11 D-2-2 Module Utilities/Edit Menu:.............. 12 D-2-3 Exit without Saving Data:................ 12 D-2-4 Print Questionnaire:..................... 12 D-2-5 Exit Saving New/Changed Data:............ 13 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE OF CONTENTS CONTINUED --------------------------- SECTION PROGRAM ITEM PAGE --------- ------------------------------------------------------- ------ E Module Utilities/Edit Option Menu:....................... 13 E-1 Economic Assumptions:.................................... 14 E-2 Edit Completed:.......................................... 14 E-3 Delete Module Data:...................................... 14 E-4 Changing Modes (Current/Current vs Proposed):............ 15 E-5 Help/Training Menu:...................................... 15 E-6 Editing Specific Line Number:............................ 15 F Help/Training Menus:..................................... 16 F-1 General Help/Training:................................... 16 F-1-1 General Problem Items:................... 16 F-1-2 Starting Program:........................ 17 F-1-3 Stopping & Operating Program:............ 17 F-1-4 Printing Problems:....................... 17 F-2 Module Help/Training:.................................... 18 F-2-1 General Purpose:......................... 18 F-2-2 Module Options Menu:..................... 18 F-2-3 Special Features:........................ 19 F-2-4 Utilities/Edit Menu:..................... 19 F-2-5 Explanation of Terms:.................... 19 F-2-6 Normal Problems:......................... 20 G Technical Information:................................... 20 G-1 General & System Requirements:........................... 20 G-2 Files Listing:........................................... 21 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION A - INTRODUCTION ------------------------ This Financial Planner module is designed to assist individuals in the planning for INCOME PROTECTION (Financial Situation if Disabled). Insurance is usually used to cover any shortages in these needs. Amounts of Insurance should be based on covering exposed risk and not some arbitrary formula such as X% or X times earnings. The optimum situation is not needing any insurance because your savings and investment assets would cover any exposed risk. This program will help analyse your situation and if deficient, suggest the appropriate amounts of insurance that is required. Individuals are more and more responsible to insure they have sufficient assets to support themselves in case of being disabled. This program is designed to help you to reach your income protection goal. You need to know where you are and if what your doing leads to your goal. By using this program all these questions can be answered. You can monitor your progress as ofter as you like, because you have the tool to do it with this program. This program is always being revised because of changes in the tax laws and improvement suggestions from users. If income protection planning is important to you, then registration of this program is a valuable asset for your over-all financial planning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SECTION B - INITIAL SCREEN -------------------------- When the Program is Started (Type IPFPLAN at the DOS Prompt>), the FPLAN logo will appear with the following at the bottom of the screen: ............................................................................... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This Program is provided under the Shareware Distribution System. This analysis determines your situation in case your were disabled. Most people are four times more likely to be disabled than to die and most do not know the amount of benefits they would get. An important part of this analysis is ascertaining the amount of benefits you would get. For the Demonstration version, the data will already be noted as a sample. In the sample case, the current situation shows a shortage of $560 per month, if disabled. The purchase of $500 per month in additional personal disability insurance and reduction of the marginal tax bracket, changes the situation to be over the requirement by $418 per month. For the Automatic Presentation we will only view the module screen for Current and Proposed Situation. You should review all the attributes and Print the Questionnaire and Illustration from the Regular or Non - Automatic Demo Mode. For the Demonstration version you can review all the attributes and Print the Questionnaire and Illustration with the Sample Numbers Noted. For your analysis, you need to be in the REGULAR MODE.
