TreeTop This file is included on your TreeTop master disk and contains any changes to TreeTop that are not reflected in the manual. This readme file is supplied with TreeTop version 2.40. The bound manual supplied with this version of TreeTop reads version 2.31. The primary changes to TreeTop from version 2.31 to 2.34 involve minor coding changes to eliminate a conflict older versions of TreeTop had with some TSR programs and certain operating systems. Additionally, the TreeTop logo has been slightly enhanced and the shareware (Registration Information) screen now shows the ASP logo, reflecting the ASP MEMBER product status of TreeTop. TreeTop Version 2.40 -- Added Features -- 1) TreeTop is now able to keep the file/directory/tagged status of MULTIPLE logged drives (fixed only) in memory. This makes it possible for you to log in your hard drive "C", for example, tag files on C, then log in to additional hard drives without losing any of the information about tagged files in drive C. You can instantly log back to drive C and pick up where you left off. The maximum number of files TreeTop can now keep in RAM at one time is approximate 13,000 if you have the full 640K RAM on you 2) TreeTop has been changed so that the highlighted bar on the File Service Screen is positioned at the middle of the screen when executing a PageUp or PageDown command. This gives the user a broader look at the files below the highlighted file when paging through though the files. 3) The algorithm for paging up and paging down through the Directory Service Screen has been updated to prevent too many directories entries from scrolling by. 4) The Speed Search feature (F4) on the File Service Screen has been updated so that you may press any arrow key as well as the ESC or Enter key to exit Speed Search. An additional feature was also added that allows you to press the TAB key while in Speed Search. The TAB key forces Speed Search to jump to the next file that matches the filename you have typed. 5) The program used to view a file in ASCII form (V from the File Service Screen) was changed to work more efficiently and to show the users the Control-Z characters (if any) at the end of the file.
