Delta Equulei is one of the shortest period visual binaries
known with an orbital period of a mere 5.7 years. Their rapid
period results from the short distance between the stars which
make a difficult pair for even large scopes. The actual
distance between to two stars is 4.6 AU, or less than that
between Jupiter and the sun. Both stars are nearly identical
in type and brightness.
