From: John Styles Subject: TECH: Mathematica in VR Date: Wed, 27 Jan 93 23:31 GMT Users of Mathematica will be aware of the fun and games one can have drawing 3d surfaces (z=f(x,y)) where not only the height but colour, specular and diffuse reflection may be specified for each polygon. One can also specify a number of light sources of different colours. (i.e. I can draw a surface of varying height, colour and reflectivity and have it lit from a number of points in a number of colours leading to a pretty bizarre image). The following thus occur to me: a) importing such images into a VR environment (I realise that one can't interact with them a great deal so it's more of a 'fly through'). b) implemented different colour light sources in a VR package. c) integrated VR and Mathematica Thoughts?
