For the people asking for x86 (intel) machine recommendations for
virtual reality applications, the following list comes from the usenet
group comp.sys.games.ibm.pc.

The winners have local-bus video and DX2/66 MHz chips.

The benchmark used is frames per second measured by the "Superscape 3D
benchmark," which is available on the sample disk in _Virtual_
_Reality_Playhouse_.  It's also available at the FTP site mentioned
below.
