Date: Tue, 12 Jan 93 22:48:33 -0800 Crossposted from the WELL (192.132.30.2) vr conference Topic 44: VR Event Announcements #245: DAVID BLACKBURN (breeder) Thu, Jan 7, '93 (03:40) 16 lines On Thursday evening January 21st, the Southern California VRSIG will meet at The Electronic Cafe in Santa Monica. The meeting starts at 7:30, and the address of THe E-Cafe is 1649 18th St. The meeting will feature a Mandalla System courtesy of Global Trends, and John Reiss will be the featured live speaker. John's Band called "VIRTUAL REALITY" uses the Mandalla System in their live performances, and he will show video highlights of some of their shows. He will then lead an open forum discussion on what artists require from VR systems for live performance integration. A videophone hook-up with a participant to be announced soon will round out the presentation. CNN is scheduled to be their filming the meeting for the news. Any questions, contact Dave Blackburn as breeder@well.sf.ca.us [MODERATOR'S NOTE: Thanks to Dave's good work, we at WORLDESIGN will be "there" via videophone, to talk about the new newsgroup, sci.virtual-worlds.apps, what we do at WORLDESIGN, and how come it's so neat to have author Neal Stephenson (SNOW CRASH) as a Seattle neighbor. He'll be "there" too, also via videophone. So get on down to Santa Monica, surfers, hodads, and virtual dweebs! - Bob Jacobson]
