I am doing a paper on multimedia/multisensory user interfaces for a
virtual environment, and have put together a short survey for anyone
who has actually designed, tested or used any VR devices. Please send
replies to either this address or marks@pwfire.pweh.utc.com My
definition of user interface for virtual reality includes all hardware
interaction devices (i.e HMDs and Datagloves) as well as the software
behind them.

1. What VR devices have you had a chance to use or work with?
2. What applications were these devices used for?
3. What do you think are the limitations of these devices?
4. Do you think any other interface/device could do better.
4. How effective were those devices for that application?
If effective, were these devices necessary, or could the same
end result have occurred utilizing a screen, mouse, and/or joystick.
   If not effective, why?
5. What do you think is required to have a complete multimedia/multisensory
    interface?

Any other info you can send me is greatly appreciated. Copies of my
final paper will be sent to anyone who responds (if they'd like).
