Has anyone heard any more info on Sony's personal video system / video goggles?

I'd like to know if I should hold off on spending $300 on 2 LCD TV's, or is
Sony's system  NOT going to be the toy we've all been waiting for.

If you know...
Does it apply to both eyes?   Does it use 2 seperate displays, or just some
really neat mirrors?  Is it LCD or micro-tube-type display?  Color or B&W?
$300 or $3000?

If these turn out to be useful for home-brew hackers, somebody should tell
Sony to crank up production!  Please fill me in.
