From: James Subject: WHO: Hi...new here Date: Sun, 13 Sep 92 04:03:03 -0700 Organization: Seattle University, Seattle WA Hi... I'm new here and I'd like to ask a few questions, but first my name is James and I'm from Lynnwood, Washington. I've been trying to get involved in VR technologies for the past year or two although it's not a new science I have just become aware of it's existance about 2 years ago. At current I haven't even experienced a virtual-world in the sense of a computer generated 3-D stereoscopic virtual-world. I would very much like to but this seems out of my grasp. If anyone out there in the greater Seattle area would be willing to help a freshman college student get involved with VR technologies it would be greatly appreciated and would create an incredible impact on this students life!!! If you would like to help me in my quest for knowledge I will certainly repay you for your efforts, maybe not in the near future but I will repay! I have one other question: I have access to several PowerGloves here in Lynnwood, but I'm wary of buying one because I don't at the present have the knowledge of connecting one up to my 386, nor do I have the software to drive it! Does anyone here suggest getting a PowerGlove, it's only $29.95 here and that's not too much? Has anyone read the book entitled CyberSpace by Michael Benedikt? If so what are your reviews? Again thanks to any replies that I may or may not get here on sci.virtual-worlds. I appreciate any help.... thank you. James
