There have been several papers written on the socials aspects of muds.
Try parcftp.xerox.com (13.1.64.94) in pub directory. There are at
least two articles dealing with mud & irc behavior.

Also try piggy.ucsb.edu (128.11.72.50) in pub/mud. The FAQs should be
there, including other ftp sites. Some of these sites, including
piggy, may have additional articles.

I also have names and addresses of one or two other people that may be
interested in social behavior in muds.

Finally, if rec.games.mud has an archive, there are some definitely
interesting psychological and sociological material. Some examples
include:

	-powermongering, wizards
	-gender issues: sexism, rape, deception
	-failing students and muds
	-hackers & crackers
	-mud addiction
	-mud justice and law
	-mud economics
-virtual suicides, killing sprees, and mud trashing (depression)
