Anyone familiar with the VPE (Visualization for Planetary Exploration)
software that can be downloaded from stardent.arc.nasa.gov via ftp?
It is supposed to be a high powered VR program used with UNIX and a
head-mounted VR display in stereo.  I've tried to download it but get
stuck on the names of files...the ftp doesn't recognized the file
names that I plug in.  Would it be worthwhile getting this software?
Can it be used with the headgear?  Is there low-budget VR headgear
available for the general public, e.g. Flight Simulator appears to be
coming out with something like this.  Back to VPE.  The database has
the 3D surface of Mars on it that can be VR'd in an appropriate
hardware environment.  Would love to get my hands on this stuff IF I
COULD US IT!  What hardware requirements are minimal for this kind of
graphics display?  Thanks for any input.
