From: lonachon@mehta.anu.edu.au (andrew longhorn ) Subject: Re: Sci-VW: Re: INFO: Sources for PGs in Europe Date: Mon, 19 Oct 92 08:52:35 EST The PG is not related to video standards, it is a stand-alone system that determines for itself what information to send out its cable. The PG can be interfaced to any computer with a serial/parallel port (using the parallel port requires a simpler interface but the computer is required to "drive" the glove by sending pulses whereas a serial interface such as the HC11 one drives the glove and talks to the computer as a mediator. I am in OZ and we are on PAL (the video-signal standard, not the dog-food) and I got my gloves from the states. I rang the repairs division here and apparently the only difference between the states ones and the OZ ones are a "smoothed" or "buffered" output I gather. (They just said a cap or something is connected across the signal). With this news, all you need to do now is contact someone in the US and get them to send you a glove or 2. Hope that helps, Andrew Longhorn lonachon@mehta.anu.edu.au.
