From: daniel@alv.umd.edu (Daniel DeMenthon) Subject: TECH: Drawing with light %-) Date: 25 Mar 92 22:32:54 GMT Organization: Center for Automation Research, Univ. of Md., College Park, We have developed a mouse for interaction with 3D graphics based on a computer vision technique. There are several LEDs on the mouse moved around by the user, and a camera faces the user and detects the patterns of LEDs images. We compute the position and orientation of the mouse from these images in real time. I am preparing a slide presentation about this technique, and I would like to show a photograph of Picasso for which he moved flash lights in front of the camera that had its shutter open, so the lights draw nice arabesques on the picture. He is drawing with light and we also draw with light with our mouse (We can also sculpt). I have seen this Picasso picture on a SIGGRAPH video. I went through many shelves of Picasso books in libraries without success. Has anyone seen this picture in a book about Picasso? Many thanks for your help.
