That means an HDM using BOTH a small display AND the LCD glasses Here's my idea: A single Hi-resolution display projecting Downward into a set of mirrors that display the image from the screen to each eye. In front of each eye is a simple LCD panel similar to (or in fact from) the SEGA glasses. The display shows alternating right/left eye views and the LCD panels direct the view to the approprate eye.. Now here's the main reasons I think it might be a better approach: 1) it's a bit cheaper than 2 cameras 2) there's no more problem about the scare of radiation emitions (of any sort) from the display 3) there should be little or no contrast OR opacity problems from the LCD due to the fact that it's a controlled/dark environment 4) it SHOULD be quite a bit lighter than 2 displays 5) it might be possible to use a larger/higher resolution display and reduce it using the mirrors and thus present a BETTER visual than just plain 2 display HMDs --- Saddly I don't have the money, or technical expertise to make them...but I'm curious to know if it is a valid idea, and if it has been tried before... -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | mcohan@crash.cts.com - "To be or not to be, THAT is the question." | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
