Actually, the vertical resolution will be the same: the horizontal
resolution is divided by 3 (for stripe configuration) or 2 (for delta
configuration).  Many of the high-resolution screens are delta
configuration.  That claim of 480 pixels vertically is intriguing:
wonder what displays they're using?.

A much better measure is the total display field of view
(horizonatally and vertically) and the pixels-per-degree at the
display center.  These numbers actually reflect the resolution and
immersiveness of the display.
