From: u9139605@cc.uow.edu.au (christopher j.barnaby) Subject: MISC: ideas Date: Wed, 8 Jul 92 02:13:06 GMT Organization: University Of Wollongong Imagine.... You logoff from your work terminal and you decide that it is time to relax. You walk into your entertainment room and place on your Body suit and HMD. A world appears around you. This world is entirely grey. As you point toward the floor a colour change starts from the red end of the spectrum and radiates from the exact position you indicated. You kneel on the ground and touch the colours you find the most appealing. After a short time span (and some careful decisions made by the program via neural-networking), shapes which make a variety of sounds appear above you. They all appear to be basic shapes... a pyramid, a sphere, a cube, a cylinder, a cone, and a double helix. You touch the shape which you like the most and the others disappear. The shape becomes larger and begins to rotate while displaying the colours you selected earlier. As it does this you grab it and pull sections of the object out to form a more aesthetically pleasing piece. Its sound varies with its colour cycling and the program continually changes the object according to your inputs while changing the orginal object. You stand back and admire your continually changing sculpture. At a spoken command it can be frozen, saved or experienced by a friend. This is one of my ideas of IDEAL SCULPTURE....Christopher Barnaby. More ideas soon.....
