From: minerva!diego@beaver.cs.washington.edu (Diego Montefusco) Subject: TECH: Help needed for DataGlove programming. Date: Fri, 3 Jul 92 23:55:57 CET Hi all! I have to start using a DataGlove VPL model 2 in a program I am writing in C on a 486 for an university project. I have a lot of troubles, since I can't read what the glove controller sends on the serial port: I do use the same routines for reading the port that VPL supplies, but it seems I miss EVERYTHING. When you send a command to the controller, it sends back the same bytes you sent, plus what you asked for. Well, I can't understand why, but, when from time to time I do read something, it is NOT what I was waiting for... Has anyone out there managed to successfully use it? I surely have NO experience in programming real-time data collection, but I don't think I am completely stupid... or so I hope! I've been breaking my head on this for 4 days now, and desperation is taking me and my colleagues :-( so, if you can, e-mail me some HELP!! Thanks a lot, Diego Montefusco ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diego Montefusco minerva!diego@hp3.sm.dsi.unimi.it Via Pirano 4 20127 Milano montefus@ghost.dsi.unimi.it ITALIA -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
