Earlier this year CBC, the Canadian state television, aired a documentary
produced by Daniel Gelfant, "Digital Dreams."  Everything about this
discussion was a nightmare, breathless beyond belief, foolishly credulous
about outrageous claims, and driven to determine whether in fact "virtual
reality will truly bring people together, help us learn ... or become
another electronic drug!"

Mega, hyper, multi, etc., etc.  People who cooperate with these self-
important media fantasizers deserve what they get.  But we all don't.
