Good luck.  The concept has shown up in sci fi already, if precedence
is all you're worried about - the recent novel "Take back Plenty" and
the earlier "The Electric Kid". (Or was it "The Schizoid Kid"?)
Probably other stuff too, I just don't remember.

Doesn't everything show up in sci fi first?
