From: rxy5310@hertz.njit.edu (Rolan Yang Wasteland Engineer) Subject: TECH: Konami LaserScope headset specs wanted! Date: Fri, 25 Dec 1992 08:32:50 GMT Message-ID: <1992Dec25.083250.5086@njitgw.njit.edu> Organization: New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, N.J. I recently purchased a Konami LaserScope accessory (made for Nintendo). I have it wired into the parallel port similar to the PowerGlove, except that there are only 4 wires coming out of the headset. For those of you that aren't familiar with this toy, it is a pair of bulky plastic headphones with a microphone and a photocell sensor (like the one used in the "Duck Hunt" pistol). It has a nice heads-up crosshair display. Anything spoken into the microphone triggers the thing to fire. I'm looking for the specs on the Headset or Pistol (I assume that they are the same). I assume that the "latch" wire is the one missing from the headset (as compared to the powerglove), which means that there is a ground, +5v, clock, and data out. I can get the thing to register a "fire", but I'm not sure how the photosensor is integrated into all of this. I'm hoping to be able to use this in video games or light pen type applications. I highly recommend grabbing one or two of these from your local toy store if you find them for under $15. They list for $50, but I've been seeing them all around for a discount price of $10 -what a deal. -Rolan In case I clouded up the main point of this message up there, I'm looking for Specs on the Nintendo Light Pistol.
