How you do this in VR, I don't know. Here are two possibilities for an encumbered-style keyboard: 1) Casio MIDI saxophone. These things were consumer toys, little electronic saxes. I've got mine running as a computer keyboard and plan to switch over in an attempt to deal with tendonitis. 2) Strap a 5-key chord keyboard to your left thigh.
