From: buxduac@dct.ac.uk Subject: WHO: VR labs in UK and Europe? Date: 2 Dec 92 15:49:52 GMT Message-ID: <1992Dec2.154952.2111@dct.ac.uk> Organization: Dundee Institute of Technology I am trying to reach VR labs in the UK and Europe. Here at Dundee we are currently coming to the end of a project using various items of VR equipement and would like to do a tour around any other labs in the UK or Europe to see what other work is being carried out. We would like to come and visit in January or February of next year, and would be willing to gibe a short presentation on the work we have carried out so far. Here is what we do: ECHO Echo is a serc funded three year research project concerned with multi modal computer interfaces for the disabled. we are currently using a VPL data glove, a ASL eytracker, and Dragon Dictate speach recognition unit. All three are connetced to a sun via PC's and provide equivelent input channels for the user. This project is just about over. ARCHIE Archie is an ESPRIT funded project, just starting, which will build on the work of ECHO. Again the aim is to build a multi modal computer interface but to make it more robust using plan recognition. Please reply to the address below if you are interested in showing us what you do or in hearing what we do ! Andy C ACOBLEY@uk.ac.dundee.mic Microcomputer Center University of Dundee Dundee Scotland .
