From: Toby Watson Subject: REQUEST: Info on LCD monitor update rates ?? Date: Tue, 25 Aug 92 11:46:42 BST Hi, Now I know that some of you out there have experience with little LCD monitors that are used in Head Mounted Displays (HMD's) What I want to know is, what is the maximum update rate for one of these panels ? I guess there are two parts to the systems, the driver electronics and the actual panel. I would like to know the rate for the panel I know that the video monitors accept single bit video rate signals at approx 25f/s , these displays are multiplexed in 2D. Is it possible to drive the display from a parallel engine a line at a time ? say 200/300 pixels at a time. Why would you want to drive a monitor at over 25fps ? Well you can recycle the extra frames and drive two eyes from one monitor or suchlike...I have an idea ??***!!!? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
