DATE: 16th September 1992 TIME: 9.30am - 5pm VENUE: COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, COVENTRY, UK TOPIC: VR, New Interfaces, and CAD/CAE/CAM This will be a small (<100 people) one-day get-together to consider the possibilities and problems of updating CAD, CAE and CAM, with most particular reference to the possible impact of Virtual Reality and other novel interface techniques. Sponsored by the ACME (Applications of Computers to Manufacturing Engineering directorate) of the British Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC), this conference is open to all people who have some professional concern in the field, whether as students, researchers, or industrial workers. Costs (if any) will be kept very low to encourage attendance of as broad a spectrum of such people as possible. We hope to have in attendance many of our team's industrial collaborators, including a British manufacturer of VR systems, CAD software designers, and representatives of manufacturing industry. However, we know that we don't know of everyone who may be interested in attending: please draw the attention of other interesting people to this Announcement! Papers and demonstrations of equipment/systems are invited. They should be suitable for giving to the broadly-specialised audience mentioned above, and be capable of being delivered in no more than an hour.
