Such an interest develops new methodologies in modeling & simulation either by inventing new formalisms or by combining the traditional methods and new technologies from fields of artificial intelligence and qualitative modeling. This special issue will be devoted to the recent advances in theory and practice for methodology-based modeling and simulation.
