He told me that the video artist who used to work with Nam Jun Paik, and who played a cello with TV monitors in it, had ended up with cancer of both breasts. Considering that radiation intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance, plus the fact that some forms of radiation will attenuate even faster than that due to shielding from air particles, etc., would you really want to put a pair of color monitors an inch away from your eyes? Or even B&W monitors? I don't have the answer, but I think it's an important question. Earl Vickers earl@netcom.com
