In reference to Tactile Gloves, there was a booth at Siggraph where a
company named EXOS, Inc. from Burlington, MA displayed a glove which
used tiny vibrators to create tactile feedback.  They also manufacture
an exoskeleton that fits over the hand (not really a glove) which is
ten times as accurate as the VPL data glove.  Currently the exoskeleton,
called the Dexterous Hand Master, has been used for Robotics research
(e.g. NASA Ames), ergonomics research (e.g. powertool manufacturers), and
Virtual Reality research (e.g. Stanford and MIT Media Lab).  It has a
wrist attachment and a prototype shoulder/elbow piece too.

They may have something more "forceful" in the works for tactile feedback,
but you'd have to ask them for more information.  This might be of
interest to your HIT lab, too.
