In article <1991Oct17.072215.22311@milton.u.washington.edu> you write:

The moderation could stand to be more agressive, starting with the
moderators. Your political biases show through clearly and incite
people into irrelevant digressions. Take for example this article:

Only in the minds of those who bought the "virtual reality"
	shoved down our collective throats.

Let's not get into it here, ok.

This topic has nothing whatsoever to do with VR and further
postings on it should be canned.

Further, far too many discussions unrelated to the nominal topic
of the newsgroup crop up, such as the current one on low-end VR (which
is actually about fast rendering algorithms). That should be
redirected to comp.graphics or email.

> Okay, if you think there is a point in creating a new newsgroup, let us

I think you should take this over to news.groups and follow
the standard group creation process.

[MODERATOR'S NOTE: Jon makes some telling points. ("Biases" that are
overtly addressed, however, and held out for public comment, are hardly
biases in the conventional sense. Certainly, both sides of the lexicon
of war have been presented...and this is relevant, as we come to typify
the "beings" and "agents" who occupy the virtual world. Will this dicho-
tomy follow us into the Fantasy Kingdom?) If a new newsgroup is formed,
it should follow the news.group procedure. We just brought the topic up
here to ensure a kinder, gentler transition, if there is one. -- Bob
