Virtus Corporation of Cary, NC is marketing a low-end ($395) virtual reality
package for the Macintosh called Virtus WalkThrough.  The program allows the
user to quickly create 3-D environments while moving around and through them.
Frame rates are currently in the range of 1 to 10 Hz on a typical Mac II with
no accelerators.  The observer is controlled by mouse movements, and all 
rendering is done directly to the screen (no additional hardware required).

Upcoming developments include real-time texture mapping and user interaction
with the virtual environment...
