Does anyone know of any Neural Network programming going on in VR? I ask because I'm doing my Doctoral Thesis on the application of VR to Archaeology, particularly from a cognitive science/psychology of perception point of view. What I'm after is not so much a VR landscape that represents times past for modern man to stroll around in(though that wouldn't be so bad for starters), but rather one peopled with virtual Romans, Vikings, Iron Age farmers and so on. Icing on the cake being to inhabit ancient landscapes and view them through the eyes of 'contemporary' inhabitants. I reckon that the best way to go about reverse engineering the thought patterns, beliefs and behaviour patterns of peoples from the past is via the neural route and the usefulness of such an approach in the VR context is one I'm trying to explore. O.K. so I want to walk like an Egyptian... Joe Claxton
