                    ADVANCE NOTICE & FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

                The 2nd Australian Multi-Media Communications,
                    Applications and Technology Workshop

                              13th-14th July, 1992
                          Telecom Research Laboratories,
                               Clayton, Victoria


Following the large success of the first Australian multi-media workshop
held in Sydney in July 1991, we are pleased to announce the Second Workshop
will be held in Telecom Research laboratories on 13-14 July 1992. The workshop
will precede the Australian Broadband Switching and Services Symposium
(ABSSS) 1992 to be held at Monash University, Clayton on 15-17 July 1992.

The two-day workshop will enable researchers, users, manufacturers and
others with interest in multi-media to meet and exchange information,
discuss applications, and take stock of latest research and development
in this fast-growing and exciting field. The programme is expected to be
complemented by demonstrations of latest equipment from manufacturers and
other organisations.

Papers are invited for presentation in the workshop in the following areas:

 - applications of multi-media systems
 - multi-media communications on existing and future networks
 - multi-media software development and utilities
 - multi-media hardware
 - human factors in multi-media interactions
 - miscellaneous topics in multi-media technology

Authors whose papers are accepted will be expected to present them in person.
The proposed schedule of papers is as follows:
    1 page summary to be received by: 6 March 1992
        Notification of acceptance: 8 April 1992
        Completed Papers Received: 29 March 1992

A nominal fee will be charged to cover proceedings, morning and afternoon
teas, lunches and organisational expenses. The Workshop Chairman is:

Demonstrations of equipment or research prototypes are invited and exhibitors
