I've seen this thing too.  It was on the Today show a couple of weeks ago and
Katie Couric and that DiMaggio guy (what's his name?) both put on the headsets
and battled for a minute.  While a section of what they could see was on two
monitors in the middle.  Both of the hosts seemed genuinely surprised by the
intensity of their first VR experience.

I also saw the same system on a flyer for the club DV8 in San Fransisco.  They
were going to have the system there last Wednesday night (I forgot about it).
On the flyer there are two pictures: one of the system seen on CNN and Today,
the other of a big bumper-car looking thing with a person seated in front of
a steering wheel and wearing eyephones.

I also heard that there was an article in one of the local papers about this
stuff appearing at some mall for a while.  Anyone know any details?
