HOW TO TRANSLATE MEMORY TO ANOTHER LANGUAGE
=============================================

If Memory doesn't exist in your language, I would be glad if you translate it. It is
really not a very big job.
You have to translate the 3 textfiles "english.ln1", "english.ln2" and "english.ln3",
Only read them into notepad and do, as I'm going to tell you later.
You then have to save the files as TheNameOfYourLanguage.ln1,
TheNameOfYourLanguage.ln2 and  TheNameOfYourLanguage.ln3.

====
.LN1
====
The file *.ln1 tells Memory, which text to write on text-cards. Her you see
the beginning of the file:

The file english.ln1 What to do:
-------------------------------		------------------
; English Names These lines are comments, starting with ";"
; Gunnar Bach Pedersen 1995 Please write your name here
;
PHONE.BMP				File-name - no change.
PHONE The word for PHONE in your language
;
ALARM.BMP
ALARM-CLOCK Long words must be divided by an hyphen
; it will then be printed on two or three lines.
CHURCH.BMP No words may be more than three lines with
CHURCH					maximum 6 letters.
;
COW.BMP
COW

====
.LN2
====
This file contains all texts you see on the screen, except the helptexts.

The file english.ln2 What to do:
-------------------------------		------------------

;	English language-file
;	for Memory Comment once again
;	Gunnar Bach Pedersen Your name again
@CONFIG Needed by MEMORY and MUST be unchanged
Configuration The words without preceeding ";", " @"
Big pieces or "#" must all be translated
Number of pieces

Please, don't make empty line without and preceeding ";" to mark it as a comment

====
.LN3
====
Here you find all help-texts:

The file english.ln3 What to do:
-------------------------------		------------------

@@@CONFIG You should not change that - it's a command
; Helptexts for configuration		comments
@160,50,1 Where to place the text - don't change
BIG CARDS				Header to translate
Here you choose big or small Text to translate
cards.

@265,45,1
#1					Command - don't remove!
 					And don't remove empty lines!
Click on a card with the
mouse and turn the front up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you have finished your translation, you can save the three files in the
Memory-directory and then play the game with this language.
And you can give it away with a copy of the memory-files.
Please don't forget to send me a copy of yout translation, too. I would also
be glad to obtain proposals withg emendations for the existing language-files.
Some of them are translated by peaople with this language as second language.
Send your translation and proposals to:
