    ** TYPES OF SEARCHES **

There are two types of searches *
made for a medication. Specific *
or General. *
With a Specific search, you key *
in the exact spelling of the *
medication desired. *
With a General search, PSYMED will *
display a special "scan" screen *
and allow you to view various *
medications that fit your *
particular search category. *

A search for a drug definition may ********************
be made based on the following *
criteria:

Brand Name - (B) :
****************

If you know the particular Brand *
name, i.e. THORAZINE, select entry
"B". Key in the name and
PSYMED will bring up the drug *
definition.

Generic Name - (G) :
****************** *

A generic name search is similar *
in procedure to a brand name search.*
Key in the Generic name, i.e.
Chlorpromazine for a psymed search. *
You may also key in a partial
spelling of the generic name and
PSYMED will find any "matched"
medications.

Partial Word Search - (P)
*******************

If you only know a few of the *
letters of a brand name, *
a partial search will allow *
you to key in what you know. *
Psymed will search for a drug match *
and display all occurances found. *
You may select any "found" drugs *
for display. *

Category - (C)
********* *

Use this type of psymed search if *
you are looking for a particular *
drug (name unknown) within a *
defined category - such as *
antidepressants, antipsychotics,etc.*
Can also be used simply to view *
various categories of drugs. *

List All - (L)
******** *

This option will list all drugs *
within the PSYMED database. You *
may select any listed drugs for a *
complete definition. Drugs are *
listed alphabetically. *

    *** OTHER ***

Manufacturers - (M)
*************

This selection will provide a *
comprehensive list of the *
manufacturers of the drugs listed *
within the PSYMED database. You may *
view address information on a *
particular manufacturer or list all *
medications produced by selected *
manufacturer. *

Manufacturer address information may *
be also viewed any time while *
viewing a particular medication by *
simply hitting the F1 key. *
