KM_TERM - ADDITIONAL AUTOLOGON INFORMATION

There's been a bit of confusion regarding the recording of autologon
sequences which I'd like to clear up once and for all...

This is a step by step account of how to create a foolproof autologon
file:-

1. RUN KM_Term from the desktop (I said it was foolproof)

2. Press <shift-F1>

3. The fileselector appears in the LOGON\ directory. Type the name of
the autologon file (e.g. NEW.AUT) and click on 'OK' or press
   <return>.

4. Pull up the AUTODIAL facility from the main menu and click on the
   appropriate BBS number.

5. When you CONNECT wait until the BBS asks you for some sort of
keyboard input, e.g. 'Press ESCAPE to enter BBS' or something
similar. Every time that this occurs (or name/password requests
etc.) wait a minimum of 0.2 seconds and then press <shift-F3>.
Then enter the required response on the keyboard or via a macro
   string (F1-F8).

6. NB: IF YOU ARE USING KM_TERM v1.5 THEN YOU WILL NEED TO PRESS
<shift-F3> AFTER TYPING IN ANY STRING THAT IS TERMINATED BY A
[CR] BEFORE ENTERING THE REQUIRED <Return> KEYPRESS. THIS FEATURE
HAS BEEN IMPROVED IN v1.6 SO THIS IS *NOT* REQUIRED IN LATER
   VERSIONS.

7. Every time the BBS asks for some input, press <shift-F3> and then
enter the required response until you reach the required place
where normal user input is desired. Then press <shift-F2> to
   terminate the record facility.

8. In KM_Term v1.6 onwards the current RS232 setup can be saved in
the autologon file by pressing <shift-F10> BEFORE moving to the
Autodial facility and AFTER initiating the record facility.

9. In KM_Term v1.6 onwards, any XYZ transfers are also recorded to
enable users to create autologon files that logon, download new
mail, and logoff without intervention unless desired. If you are
using v1.73 or later this step is not required with ZMODEM
downloads since KM_Term now autodetects ZMODEM.
