The Barber Pole A CyberPainting by Timothy Early This is a CyberPaint sequence file. Use Animate3.prg to view. Set for forward mode, buffering on, and a speed of 6-8, or whatever you prefer. I created this animation using CAD 3D v.2.02, CyberControl, and CyberPaint. The rotating barber pole was my inspiration to create a complete 3D barbershop. This CyberPainting is the Barber Pole only. Working my way through the CyberControl tutorial sections, I came across Tom Hudson's COILMAKE.CTL program. I ran it a couple of times, making several spiral springs. But what could I do with a spiral spring? Using CyberControl, I cloned my last spring without moving it, and rotated the copy 180 degrees. I set my colors so that one spring was red and the other white. The endcaps were created with the spin tool, and colored yellow. A simple CyberControl script rotated the pole through a complete rotation. I shot the scene twice, once in Outlined Draft, and again in Final mode. Looking at the resulting animations, I liked the caps from the 'draft' version, but the pole from the 'final' rendering. CyberPaint was used to merge the outlined caps with the solid pole. Some minor cleaning up followed, and text added. An ADO effect for my name was merged into the sequence. This CyberPainting has been released for the enjoyment of all ST owners. It may not be used for commercial purposes without my permission. Comments and critisism welcome. Timothy Early Compuserve: 73765,1173 GEnie: T.EARLY U.S. Mail: 14 Carpenter Rd. Bolton, CT 06043
