The Pub Director ---------------- Freeware from: Charles F. Johnson and Little Green Footballs Software Release Date: Thursday, January 25, 1990 UltraScript is currently being shipped with a substitute GDOS print driver, which creates a PostScript file in the current directory called PUBLISH.PS. While this does let users of TimeWorks Desktop Publisher (and some other GDOS/G+PLUS programs) enjoy the superior quality of UltraScript output, it's not a very flexible situation. If you need to print several files in a session, you must quit the program and rename PUBLISH.PS after each file, to prevent it from being overwritten. The Pub Director is a very small desk accessory that forces the PostScript driver supplied with UltraScript to write its .PS file to any path and filename you choose. Putting the Pub Director to Work -------------------------------- Just install the Pub Director as you would any other desk accessory, by copying it to the root directory of your boot disk or by loading it into MultiDesk (CodeHead Software's powerful desk accessory manager). (NOTE: If you use MultiDesk to load the Pub Director, it's best to load it before running TimeWorks Publisher!) Then, before you start printing a document, simply open the Pub Directory accessory first. A file selector will appear, allowing you to choose the path and name to which you wish to write the .PS file. Now when you print your document, the Pub Director will intercept the PostScript driver when it tries to create a file called PUBLISH.PS, and substitute the path and name you selected. Short and simple. Have fun with this program. In addition to TimeWorks Desktop Publisher, I've found it to be very useful with Easy Draw and Outprint. - Charles F.
