The Berkeley Hall of Science uses version ³ ³ 3 as learning tool for its thousands of visitors each year. ³ ³ ACCOLADE, the American distributor of the programming system, chose ³ ³ 3DHOUSE as the product's sole demo. ³ ³ ³ ³ I've never asked for nor received a cent for the program. Keyboard controls: Q - Rotate left H - Move left W - Rotate right J - Move right P - Look upward R - Rise L - Look downward F - Descend O - Move forward U - U turn K - Move backward I - Center view vertically C - Gets rid of unsightly crosshairs The keyboard is always active, even if you've selected MOUSE (that's "souris" in French!) ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³ Shift/Escape quits to DOS ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ I set 3DWORLD to startup in 'fly' mode. Pressing 'V' then 'B' allows you to enter 'walk' mode. You may have to try this a few times to get the hang of it. Pointing at the ground (generally) and firing, transports you to the next location. When using the mouse, pressing the right button usually does the same thing as the the left - only faster. If you have a SoundBlaster or Adlib compatible sound card you'll hear sounds as you do things. NOTE: Applications created with Virtual Reality Studio don't run correctly from any disk other than c: (the borders don't load and the color palette is way off). If your hard drive IS c:, you're all set. If not, you can use the ASSIGN command to fool the program into thinking your drive IS c:. MS-DOS 6 users can use the SUBST command. I wrote 3DWORLD with DoMark's "Virtual Reality Studio," version 2.07, using Incentive's Freescape programming language. It's definitely worth getting if you're into this sort of thing - but be prepared to spend some serious time if your project is at all ambitious. I've also seen it at most national computer stores. 3DWORLD is a compilation of clip art from Virtual Reality Studio 2.0 with many of my own additions and enhancements.
