 Frontdoor Log INFO v 0.26
 (c) 1992 BrainBox Systems Ltd.
 Author: P.M.Bloemendaal

Frontdoor Info is a copyright program although I allow spreading this
program on BBS's etc as long as no money is charged.
No payment is needed to work with this program, as a matter of fact, I don't
want any money for it unless you are willing to pay me a biljon.

But there IS one restriction. I want to know who is using my program. It
took me a lot af hours to make fd_info into what it is today. Ofcourse it was
possible to make some sort of key to force you registrating my program. But
I choose not to do this. I only want you to send me a nice postcard, with a
nice picture on it from your hometown. It is wise to place your name on the
back along with your point or nodenummer, so I can reach you in the future,
to inform you about updates for fd_info.

    Send your postcard to:

        Peter Bloemendaal
        Pluvierstraat 471
        2583 GZ Den Haag
        The Netherlands

                      So...... this program is POSTWARE!

What can FD_INFO do for you? FD_INFO scans your Frontdoor 2.02 or higher
logfile. Because the configuration file includes zones, this program
can be used in all other countries, if the phone costs are tick-based.
FD_INFO scans your logfiles from the beginnig to the end. It shows all
connections, phone nummbers and costs and add up all the costs in the end.
If you want to print this information to printer or to a file, you will
have to redirect the output. For example:

FD_INFO > LPT1

  or

FD_INFO > COSTS.TXT

If you are only interested in the total cost, you may supress the whole
list with the parameter X1. If you are not interested in the cost at all,
you may supress this with the parameter X0. This may not seem very usefull,
but if you are only interested in the received files, you may want to
supress the cost info. You get the received files with the parameter R and
the send files with S.

FD_INFO X0 S

shows the send files.

FD_INFO works with zones. For my country I have installed 3 zones, but there
are more. If I want to scan my logfiles on phone calls to an interlocal zone,
I can give FD_INFO the following parameter:

FD_INFO Z interlocal

It is also possible to scan parts of a logfile. For example, you can scan
from a beginning date to an end date.

FD_INFO F 01/01/1992 T 01/02/1992

Furthermore it is possible to scan your log file for the last x days. To
scan your logfile only on entries this day:

FD_INFO 0 R S

Shows you the cost, received and send files today.

Log files can grow very fast. To prevent very big, space consumming log
files, it is possible to update your log file. With this option you may lose
data in your logfile!!! If you scan your logfile for example for a specific
zone and update it, you lose all the information for the other zones! If
you do not specify received and send files, you lose that information to.
May be this is what you want, but I prefer to keep al the information in
my logfile, so when I update my logfile, I only use the parameters R and S.

FD_INFO R U S

You may use these parameters in any order. Some parameters may conflict,
for example the number (scan back) and the to and from parameters.
These are all the parameters:

FD_INFO analysis the logdata left by Frontdoor v2.02

Here is an explanation of the configuration file.

Zone keyword defines what name FD_Info will give to a call in a certain
area. Also, you can define what the duration of 1 'tick' will be. In the
above example, on sundays a call outside the domestical area, will cost
you 94 cents per tick, during the whole day. On Mondays, this call will
cost 47 cents between the two times given (starting time and ending time
both in second since midnight. So this will be 8:00 until 18:00) and
outside that time it'll cost you 94 cents again.
You can define for which phonenumbers this tariff is counts, by using
NUM keyword. In this example for all numbers starting with 31- this
tariff will be used, except the numbers which are stated after this one
        in the config file.

Tic 0.15

The cost for one tick. Ask your phonecompany if you don't know it.. For
the Netherlands, this value is OK at this moment (march 1992)

LogFile c:\fd\fd.log

        The path to the logfile.

Delay 6

The time between answering the phone by the remote system, and the
returning of a CONNECT by your modem. This value is added to the connect
time written in the LOG by FD, to make it more accurate. This value is
OK for most 2400 BPS modems, when connecting to a HST. If you're
connecting to HST with a HST, this time will be shorter. The only way to
find out for you, is by trying it! Unfortunately, neither Peter nor I
        have a HST :-(

Date DDMMYY

The date format as written in your LOGfile.
