ADDENDUM to the Rules of RPGNet (PLAYERS/GAMEMASTERS) Revision 01-98
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

774.1 PURPOSE
=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The purpose of this addendum is to add to the players rules and guidelines
of play. This addendum does not supersede the prior UPDATE 00 of the
PLAYER.TXT rule set.

774.2 STANDARD OF PLAY
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The standard of play will be from the Advanced Dungeon's and Dragons (tm)
Players Guide - Second Edition, and GURPS(tm) by Steve Jackson Games 2nd Ed.
Other gaming engines will be utilized on a case-by-case basis, and will
be announced ahead of time. These books are available in any hobby store
such as Hungate's Crafts(tm), or any RPG game store. It is recommended
that you procure the above named books and familiarize yourselves with
the contents within. The BEST reference is the CD-ROM by TSR, Inc. called
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Core Rules which retails for roughly
$29.95 and can be procured at most book stores. A newer version is due out
soon but the current one has the DM's Guide, Player's Guide, Monsterous
Compendium, Tome of Magic, Arms and Equipment Guide, and numerous
attribute generators as well as a means to generate your own characters
while you're using the program. It is the handiest program and is used
by the NetMaster for the initial games that are here on the network.
Other than the above mentioned references and materials, no other gaming
ruleset will be allowed unless approved by the NetMaster. Please state
where you procured other gaming engines to the NetMaster or if it is your
own creation, send a copy of it for review prior to approval.

774.3 WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING...
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Bear in mind that minor aged children are present in this net and
proper conduct is expected. Each game is a story that unfolds in
front of you segment by segment. If your Game/Dungeon Master of their
respective games calls for a particular action, please ensure you
reply in a timely manner as it keeps game flow going. If you expect
for any reason that you no longer wish to play in any game you are
currently playing, notify your game/dungeon master at that time. All
inactive players will be "killed off" to make room for those who will
play. Also, know the difference between reality and fantasy. That is,
don't integrate your reality life with the life of your character.
It makes for a dangerous combination and can result in unforeseen
complications in your real life such as incarceration, injury or death
of yourself or others. Don't go there!

774.4 AT THE END OF THE GAME...
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

When your game has ended such as your party completes a quest or you
die, ensure that your game/dungeon master informs the NetMaster so
the game can be removed from the network. Inactive games after 6 months
will be deleted from the network. If for some reason you need an extension,
have your game/dungeon master inform the Netmaster immediately.

774.5 NEW GAMES
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Games can be requested via a request to the NetMaster for addition into
the network. If you are to be the game/dungeon master of a game, submit
the request yourself. All players must request through the game/dungeon
master prior to play. Your initial message should be:

Example:
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
TO: GAMEMASTER
FROM: <your character>
SUBJ: JOINING GAME

<your character> wishes to join this game.

signed
<your real name>
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Those requesting a game must post a message in the GAME REQUEST echo ONLY and
the format of the message will be:

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
FROM: <your real name>
TO: NETMASTER
SUBJ: GAME REQUEST

Request <name of game module> be added into the network. Gaming ruleset will
be <game rules ie- AD&D 2nd Edition>. I certify that I have at least
1 player interested in joining this game with me at this time.

<your name here>
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

GAME/DUNGEON MASTERS - Ensure requests sent to NetMaster are in proper
format prior to submission so requests can be filled faster.

774.6 USE OF RPGNET GAME CHATTER AND RPGNET NON-GAME CHATTER
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

These conferences are specific to what is allowed in them
and the guidelines for posting in these two conferences
are covered in the PLAYER.TXT / SYSOP.TXT files.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

This is the latest addendum to the rules and guidelines for RPGNet.
They were updated to conform to the gaming engines for enhanced game
play. Addition, changes and deletions will periodically be made
for that same purpose.
