Instructions for using the ListServ Robot at The Heart Of Gold BBS
==================================================================

* Mailing Lists

  The listserv is used to manage your access to various mailing lists. A
  mailing list is a fake address on this system which you can write to. When
  you do, FDInt will explode your message to the mailing list members. Each
  list has a "Tag".

  _________________________________________________________________________

  Posting to a mailing list from an FTN address:

  To: <The unique tag of the mailing list>
  At: <any AKA of this system>

  eg. for a mailing list with a tag "test"

  To: test
  At: 2:443/13.0

  _________________________________________________________________________

  Posting to a mailing list from an InterNet address:

  To: tag@thog.conqueror.co.uk  <The tag is the username>

  Lists can be set to Private on the FDInt system, in which case you may not
  post to them unless you are on them.

  When the message is exploded, it will appear to come from the name of the
  list, so a simple reply will reply to the list name, and consequently be
  exploded again.

* List Server

  By writing to "listserv" you can use the following features. In each case,
  you should begin by writing a netmail or internet message to listserv and
  place the appropriate command on the subject line. The subject line is
  case insensitive.

  Writing a message to the listserv robot from an FTN address.

  You should address the message to "listserv" at any of the AKAs of the
  system that FDInt runs on. Place your command on the subject line, and
  you must remember to place some text, even a single character in the
  message body or the message will be deleted by many mailers.
