Here is some important information about the
disk optimizer "ReOrg V2.3":

- DO READ the documentation "ReOrg.doc" ! Although most
  functions of "ReOrg" are quite "intuitive" and although
  ReOrg has an online help facility, there are several
  important hints in the documentation !

- BEFORE STARTING ReOrg BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF
  YOUR HARDDISK !
  I really mean it ! There have been some problems with
  ReOrg V2.1 and some (a few) harddisk controllers. Although
  all bugs and problems I know have been solved in ReOrg V2.3,
  there is still a (slight) chance that ReOrg destroys
  the data on your harddisk. If you do not have a backup
  available in that case, THAT IS YOUR OWN FAULT --- especially
  if you used ReOrg on your harddisk for the first time !
  
- For those of you who have already been using ReOrg V2.1:
  - Please delete all old settings files (ReOrg.prefs) !
    Altough ReOrg V2.3 can still read all old settings files,
    I recommend you use the new built-in settings first,
    because some default options have changed from V2.1 to
    V2.3 !
  - There is one important change for the option
    "Read drive geometry":
    - THE OPTION "Read drive geometry" SHOULD ALWAYS BE
      SWITCHED OFF, EVEN IF YOU ARE USING HD-DISKS IN
      COMMODORE HD DISK DRIVES. This option is now only
      needed for "special" disk drives with variable
      formats, e.g. on the SCSI bus (at this time, I do not
      think that such drives already exist). ReOrg
      automatically adjusts itself to HD-disks inserted
      in Commodore HD disk drives even if the option
      "Read disk geometry" is switched off.


- IMPORTANT ! Recommended option settings:

  - Write verify:
    - for floppy disks:    >On< or >Off<  (choose by yourself)
    - for harddisks:       >Off< !!! (Verify does not make much
                                      sense for harddisks)
  
  - Format:
    - floppy disks in 2-disk-mode: >All tracks< for a new disk
                                   >On< for a pre-formatted disk
    - floppy disks in 1-disk-mode: >On< (is faster than >Off<)                              
    - harddisks (1-disk-mode):     >Off< !!! (Otherwise you might
                                              get I/O errors)

  - Read drive geometry:        >Off< !!! (or your machine might crash)
  
  - Update disk date:           >On< !!! (or your machine might crash)
