     NAME
          L - Display files and directories in columns.

     SYNOPSIS
          L PAT CD/S NOCOL/S
          
     DESCRIPTION
          L will display the files and the directories in the current
          directory unless a PAT argument is supplied to specify wich
          directory or files should be examined (wildcards supported).
          Filenames will be sorted and organized in columns; the number
          of columns is chosed according to the current window width,
          its font XSize, and to the maximum lenght filename.
          Directory names will be highlighted using color #3 unless
          the NOCOL switch is supplied.

     OPTIONS
          CD
                Change the current directory according to the PAT
                argument. This option is most handy when used with
                an Alias command like:

                Alias Cl L [] CD 
          NOCOL
                Don't use ANSI sequences to highlight directory names.
                Useful for prints etc.
